Julia Alman was the daughter of Lazarus Alman and Hannah Moses. She was born in Bristol about 1839. She emigrated with her parents and siblings on the Deborah in 1852. Julia married Russian born Isaac Abramowich in Ballarat when she was aged only 17 years. They had a family of four children: Lazarus b. 1863; Joel b. 1864; Rebecca Rose b. 1866 and Zadok b. 1868. Julia died on 30 June 1869 of post partum haemorrhage following the birth of her fifth child. She was buried in the Hebrew Section of the Ballaarat Old Cemetery. The informant on her death certificate was a nephew, Abraham Simmonds.
