Anne (Turner) was born around 1821 at Barnstaple, Devonshire, England. Anne was 33 years when she married James Banow in November 1852 in London, England. James was a butcher from East Down, Devonshire, England. After they married Anne and James proceeded to Australia where their son, Charles, was born on the Ballarat Diggings on 23 December 1854.
