Ellen Craven of Hobart Town, Van Diemen’s Land (VDL) married Charles Aik in June 1853 at Buninyong. He was from Mesnet, East Russia. Their son Charles William Aik was born on 4 January 1857 at Ballarat. Ellen was then 20 years old and her husband was 25 years. She was attended by a nurse Mrs Brown.
