Margaret Ross married Donald Aird and produced a son, Donald, who was born at Ballarat in 1854. Another son, John was born in 1856 at Bacchus Marsh. In December 1854 Aird was paid £4 as a guide to the military at the time of Eureka. It was possibly Donald’s brother Daniel Aird who owned the licence to the Dunrobin Castle Hotel in Smythes Road, Sebastopol on 1 April 1867.
